Bridal Stitch Fix

In case I haven't shoved it down your throat enough... I'm gonna be a bride! I thought Stitch Fix could help me do some shopping for the big event and trip.

When I requested my fix I included the following details:
And here's what I got:
This was a much better experience than my last fix. Something about a personal note just makes a big difference. It's hard to see, but my stylist Angela told me they didn't have any lace dresses in currently but sent me other dresses and accessories, and wished me luck.
So here is what I got.
#1 The necklace
I'm wearing it in the next picture. It's like 5 lbs. I'm in love with it. I would've never bought it on my own but it's so pretty! I can picture myself wearing it with a long dress down in Florida! It's a definite keep.
She also sent this #2. This dress.
My big thighs did NOT look good in this one, so there are no pictures. It was really cute though :(
#3 Was this linen lace shirt.

I love the details and it works with my whole wedding lace thing...
And the back of it is super cute!
This is also a definite winner.
#4 was this paisley maxi dress. I'm loving maxi dresses these days (along with the rest of the world) but this print is a little like my grandmother's wallpaper. I wasn't sure I could swing it.

It actually fit great and was really comfy, but I couldn't wrap my heart around the print enough to keep it.
#5 was this great colorblock maxi skirt.
This will also be living with me!

So there it is! StitchFix redeemed itself all with one little note and I'll be keeping 3/5!

Stitch Fix #4

I took the plunge again! Stitch Fix is like an addiction. I got fix #4 yesterday. I had to work at 12:00 and waited around all morning for it to show up. As I was walking out the door UPS knocked. Of course...

I tore the tape off of the box, but then realized I'd be late for work if I hung around to look at what was inside. Last night I finally opened up the box, but was too tired to do a try on. Finally today I got to get my hands on it! Here's how it went.

First thing is I'm disappointed. Really disappointed. This fix felt different than the ones in the past. I know the company is growing a lot. You can feel it.

The box was branded and so was the card.

That was cool and cute and everything.

There wasn't a free little gift.
Ok. A little less personal, but I have Chapstick, a coaster, etc. I'll survive. Then I opened up the card.
My previous stylist, Margaret, had taken time to write me a personal message that showed she'd read what I'd written/requested. Actually, even the times when I hadn't requested anything there'd been a nice note. This time- Nothing.

I'm a greeting card kind of girl. Ask the people in my life. I love that personal stuff. So this fix just seemed so commercial and impersonal. Then the prices. The prices this time were overall much higher. So, all of those things made me evaluate if this is going to be a regular thing in my life. So sad...

On to the good. While Miranda didn't say a word to me in her letter and charged me an arm and a leg, she did listen to my request "please send me lots of tops and an accessory or two. I love the tops on your blog/instagram lately." I got two things I'd been drooling over from those social media outlets. So, time for show and tell.

Item #1- Tea N Rose Cardigan $48

Item #2- Sis Sis Metallic Sweater $48

Item #3- Collective Concepts Dot Stripe Blouse $68

Item #4- MM Couture Dot Blouse $78
With this scary warning. I'm only allowed to wear this one when smelly and unaccessorized I guess

Item #5- Geranium Lacework Bar Necklace $38

With my favorite ever stitch fix shirt!

So, what did I keep? No clue. What I want to keep is #1, 2, 4, & 5. #3 makes me feel like I'm wearing  a scrub top. Just not super flattering and I think that pattern will get old really fast. But, seriously this fix was expensive. It'll be in my best interest to keep all of it to get the 25% off vs. just keeping 2 things. I love #1 & #4 the most. But if I keep those two it's already $106. For $90 more I get 2 more things I love and 1 I like. I'm so unsure of what to do next!

What would you do? Has anyone else noticed a shift in Stitch Fix or did I just get a bad batch?

Random Things in EJ's Life

The barn wood table is still holding up amazingly well and my parents are adorable. Oh and this recipe was a major hit and crazy easy when I made it for my little dinner party of 4.

My dog hates sitting like a person, but she is SO cute. I'm also taking a little break from curly hair. Oh how I wish my hair was naturally this blonde...

I finally got my new light fixture from here. It took me FOREVER to find one I liked. Now I just need to beg my dad to put it up for me! It's the same grey as the kitchen and upstairs bathroom walls!

I'm digging these quotes:
I live in the burbs and have a fairly easy commute in to the city. Despite this, I see a fatality a month. Tonight was a crazy scary car fire with nobody on the scene yet. Too many people die young. I don't want to take this life for granted.
I really don't want to waste this life of mine.

On a much less serious note... I will never get enough of this video. It makes me laugh so much!

I'm in the market for one of these bad boys. I tried to test drive one yesterday but couldn't get anyone in the dealership to look my way. I long for a Pretty Woman moment! I can else give you 112 reasons why you shouldn't buy a Kia Forte if you're in the market for one (seriously such first world problems!)

My latest Stitch Fix is coming tomorrow!! I made the mistake of liking them on Facebook and Instagram and now I keep seeing fun new things on their site and wishing for them!

That's about it. Happy Monday to all!

Getting My Stitch Fix Take 3

There's nothing like this box to get my heart racing!
There's always a free gift in the box. Item #1 was these earrings.

They're really pretty, but get tangled in my curls, so they went back.
Item #2 is my current favorite shirt. Words can't express how perfect this shirt is! I love that it isn't a button up and is silk instead of flannel! It fits perfect. I was going to a farm to roam through corn and hold wild animals. I'd tried on a billion things, and this came 5 min. before I had to leave!
This is it on my way out:
And in action (I hate/fear birds, so this sign was perfect)!
Item #3 was this bird tank (also seen on StitchFix's blog):
Pretty appropriate given my bird fear huh? I love that it's also silk and I can wear it fall, winter, spring, and summer!
I also get dorky pleasure from the side zipper:
And here it is with a pair of boots on my way out for brunch today!
And I wore it to vote!
Item #4 was this super cute shirt which is also featured on the blog. I love it.
But, it fits a little strange. The part where the purple and stripes meet fits weird and the shirt moved weird on me because of it. It's too bad because I love it... And I love the sleeves!
It's cuter off of me than on!
Item #5 was this super super cute wrap dress. Unfortunately, it fit funky.
 So it went back.
This was my favorite fix EVER! I almost kept everything (it would've only been $165 because of the 25% keep everything discount), but wasn't sure if the dress would ever fit right, when I'd ever feel like wearing the earrings, and if the striped shirt's funky feel would bother me too much.
My stylist Margaret read every note about what I was hoping to get (I had noted something from the blog I liked, and I think that's why she went out of her way to find me others featured there) and really did an amazing job!
